Pharmacomechanical thrombolysis is a technique for removing blood clots located in deep veins. Performed as an outpatient procedure, pharmacomechanical thrombolysis uses a combination of clot-dissolving agents administered directly to the clot location and mechanical maceration to break apart clots and remove them safely from the affected vein.
